Founder and Executive Director, Marshall School's International Experiential Learning Programs

"The future is globalization, so we need to teach our students to be global leaders," says Ravi Kumar. To help the USC Marshall School achieve this goal, Kumar serves as the founder and executive director of the school's international experiential learning programs, which includes Pacific Rim Education (PRIME) and PM.Globe. Through these programs, the USC Marshall School sends each of its 700 MBA students on a seven- to ten-day international trip to visit businesses in places like China, Japan, Mexico, Cuba and Singapore.

"Programs like PRIME prepare students to compete in the global marketplace," says Kumar, who also serves as a professor of information and operations management.

Kumar conducts research in the area of environmental design of products and processes. As a visiting professor at the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore, he served as a member of a Special Interest Group advising the Indian Ministry for Information Technology on IT hardware and software policies.
