Faculty Handbook; Special Faculty; Tenure and Promotion

The Faculty Senate approve the Statement on Tenure and Promotion Policy developed by the Special Commission on Promotion and tenure Policy, subject to the following explicit understandings: (1) Nothing in the statement will affect or alter the tenure status of librarians as set forth on page 27 of the 1974-75 Faculty Handbook; (2) The special committee of the Faculty Senate described in the statement will be established promptly, and in a manner acceptable to the Senate; (3) Every category of Aspecial faculty@ other than visiting and part-time appointments proposed for use in any school, division, or other unit of the university will be referred to this special committee for its review and approval. The university will follow the recommendations of this committee, and accept its interpretation of the Statement on tenure and Promotion Policy.
