Resolution 77-78-17
Children of Faculty; Faculty
Handbook; Tuition Remission
It is understood that
each child of a deceased faculty member is entitled to one year of
undergraduate tuition remission for each year of the parent=s service. Further that it be explicitly understood
that the reference to a maximum of four years undergraduate studies on p. 41 of
the 1974-75 Faculty Handbook defines only the allotment to each eligible
child. It is not to be interpreted as a maximum entitlement of the family. (The
effect of the resolution is to make manifest the intent of current Handbook
that serves as policy until the revised Handbook is published this year.)
Moreover, upon the death of the faculty member the appropriate university
officer should notify the family of the deceased of the tuition remission
available to the dependent children.
