Resolution 77-78-32

Faculty Lay-offs; Health Sciences Campus; Proposition 13

Whereas, the passage of Proposition 13, may significantly affect the financial basis of the Schools of the Health Sciences by: (A) eliminating the County Contract (approx. 9 million for 1977-78); (B) laying-off a significant number of young clinical faculty members with low seniority in the County system. Whereas, the above may result in faculty lay-offs, both of tenured and non-tenured faculty: Be it resolved: That the Faculty Senate ask the University Administration to take all necessary measures to protect the faculty and the integrity of the Schools of the Health Sciences.
