Center for Middle Eastern Studies

Whereas controversy over the proposed Middle East Center was escalating to the detriment of the university and, Whereas the locus of academic leadership properly resides int he faculty and its representatives and Whereas vigorous action was needed to reaffirm publicly the university=s commitment to academic integrity, Therefore be it resolved that the Faculty commends President John C. LeBlanc for his courage and statesmanship in advancing the best interests of the faculty and the university through his leading enlightened discussion of the proposed Middle East Center.
