Governance Structure

Be It Resolved That: (1) The Faculty Senate expresses its approval of the AProspectus For Academic Governance@ developed by the ad hoc task force on university governance subject to the following changes to insure consistency with the principles set forth in prior Senate Resolutions: A. Delete the parenthetical clause in Item II.; B. Replace the comma after the word Aother@ in line 4 of Item IV with a period, and delete the remainder of the sentence.; C. Replace the comma after the word Amembers@ in line 4 of item VI with a period, and delete the remainder of the sentence.; (2) The Faculty Senate Executive Board will appoint representatives to an inter-constituency task force to formulate a more detailed proposal for constituency consideration. The representatives will negotiate within the guidelines set forth by the previous Senate Resolutions on university governance, and any final plan developed shall be brought to the full Senate for approval.
