Cost of Living; Faculty Salaries;
Merit Pay
Whereas: The Proposed
1980-81budget includes an 11.5% increase in the faculty salary pool; and
Whereas: The Faculty Senate approved (94 yes, 14 no), Resolution 79-80-1, which
states that such maintenance funds should be distributed on a uniform
percentage basis to each faculty member; and Whereas: The full-time, regular
faculty have voted by a ratio of 7 to 1 in support of Senate Resolution
79-80-1; Therefore Be It Resolved: (1) All salaries for regular, full-time continuing
faculty for 1980-81 should be increased by at least 11.5%, with at least an
additional .5% allocated for increases in fringe benefits, including dental
program. (2) All faculty salary allocations for 1980-81 greater than 11.5%
should be distributed solely on a merit basis. (3) If sufficient funds are
available to fund 1980-81 merit allocations, as in item 2 above, then the
deferred 1980-81 merit evaluations should be included in the 1981-82 merit
allocations. (4) Copies of Senate Resolutions 79-80-1, 79-80-5, and this
resolution shall be sent to the Executive Vice President, the President, and
the members of the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees.
