Resolution 80-81-19
Board of Trustees; Salary Increases;
University Budget
The Faculty Senate is
sympathetic with the Administration=s efforts to present a balanced budget to the Board
of Trustees, and believes that strong efforts have been made to provide a high
salary pool. Moreover, the Senate wishes to cooperate with our new President as
much as possible. Nevertheless, we wish to point out that,
once again, the current salary allocation of 9.5% amounts, in effect, to a real
salary reduction. The Senate protests making this reduction,
even if only in part, on a Amerit@
basis. Further, we urge that much stronger efforts be made to provide
genuine merit increases in the future.
