Department Chair Appointments

A resolution stating that the chairperson of a department be a regular, full-time tenured faculty members and articulating the conditions under which a chairperson should be appointed and renewed based on the Aconfidence and endorsement@ of both faculty and deans. Should agreement on an appointment not be reached, separate reports should be submitted to the appropriate vice president for review and resolution as well as the Faculty Senate Committee on Faculty Rights and Responsibilities, if necessary.
