Resolution 83-84-10
Tenure and Promotion; Rights and Responsibilities
I Move That: The Faculty
Senate reaffirms its traditional position that academic tenure must be fully
safeguarded. Therefore, Be It Resolved: that when any type of practice plan is
adopted in any school or department of the University, no current full-time
faculty member may be denied tenure on the grounds that he/she fails, for
whatever reason, to join such a plan, and that no tenured faculty member may be
dismissed or terminated on the grounds that he/she fails, for whatever reason,
to join such a plan.
