Cost of Living; Salary Increases; University Budget

Part A Whereas a 5.5 percent pool is the absolute minimum necessary to permit the medium salary to maintain purchasing power (as measured by the Consumer Price Index for the Los Angeles metropolitan area) and to recoup a small portion of the prior years= losses to inflation, Therefore Be It Resolved that the administration accept the recommendation of the University Budget Committee that the pool for faculty salaries be increased from the 4.5 percent figure in the preliminary budget to 5.5 percent in the final budget.
