Resolution 84-85-05

Cost of Living; Salary Increases; Merit Pay

Whereas, there has been no clearcut statement of policy regarding the establishment and use of the salary pool in each years budget, and Whereas over the years the Faculty Senate has identified problem areas resulting from this lack of policy, Therefore, Be It Resolved, That an explicit salary policy be adopted which will treat separately each of the following in order to insure a more realistic size and use of each years salary pool: (1) the annual increase in the cost of living, (2) the accumulation of past losses in the real incomes of long-term faculty, (3) specific financial recognition of merit, (4) separate budget item to cover all promotions and new hires.
