Sabbatical Leave Policy

Whereas: The Faculty Senate Environment Committee has received complaints from faculty members concerning the differing and uneven practice of granting sabbatical leaves of absence among the various academic [sic], Be It Resolved That: An Ad Hoc Faculty Senate Committee be appointed to work out procedures to implement the following: (1) standardization of rules governing the awarding of sabbatical leaves for all academic units of the University (2) budgetary responsibility for funding sabbatical leaves resides in the Provost=s office (3) A Faculty/Administration Committee be established to resolve conflicts over sabbatical leaves and mediate between the faculty member and the administration.
