Resolution 85-86-14
Disability Plan; Faculty Salaries
Whereas: (1) That the
initial design of the USC self-insured disability plan called for benefits
equal to 80% of net salary; and (2) Subsequently an administrative decision was
made to pay benefits equal to 80% of net salary only up to an arbitrary maximum
limit; and (3) That in January 1983 the Faculty Senate passed a Resolution
(82-83-19) requesting that the limit be increased annually by the average
increase in the wage and salary budget line, that this recommendation was
accepted by the administration; and (4) Since the policy has not been
consistently implemented. Therefore Be It Resolved: That the USC Disability
Plan be revised to accord with its original design to
cover 80% of net pay without limit.
