Faculty Research and Innovation Fund; Senate Research Committee

Whereas: As a result of the recommendations by the Senate Research Committee, It Is Moved That: (1) A two-year limit be placed on Faculty Research and Innovation Fund Awards Committee membership, including the Chair. (2) An Annual Report from the Vice-Provost for Research be forwarded to the Faculty Senate Research Committee at the conclusion of FRIF=s spring awards cycle. The report should include: (a) awards committee=s composition by name, rank and department (b) list of awardees by name, rank department and project title (c) list of unfunded proposals with proposer=s rank, department and project title (d) status of previous awards with respect to publications and follow-on grants or contracts (3) The Vice-Provost for Research attempt to increase Faculty Research and Innovation Fund support, by investigating opportunities for direct contributions to FRIF from industrial and philanthropic organizations.
