Faculty Participation; Merit Pay
Whereas: The merit
process includes faculty participation in the evaluation process, and Whereas:
Faculty members have a close and unique opportunity to assess the academic work
of their colleagues Therefore Let It Be Resolved That: Faculty Committees
involved in the merit evaluation process should be comprised of members
selected by the faculty by a process acceptable to the faculty of the unit. The
process should include a mechanism to ensure annual turnover. This resolution
represents a clear view of unfettered, direct faculty involvement in the
evaluation process.
