Resolution 86-87-30
Faculty Handbook Committee; Frank
Mason
I Move That: Others have
come and others have gone; but you have endured, persevered, and made a lasting
imprint on a project that is vital to the University, its Faculty, and its
Administration. First as member of the Faculty Senate Committee on the Faculty
Handbook, then as its Chair, and, more recently, as member of the Provost=s commission on the Faculty Handbook and liaison with
the Faculty Senate, you have guided and given direction to the Faculty
Handbook, from beginning to end from conception to implementation. You have
been the Grand Patriarch and main mover of the Faculty Handbook. Yours has been
the unsung and painstaking, but indispensable, task of reviewing and correcting
the text of the Faculty Handbook literally word for word, comma by comma. You
have inspired, encouraged, gently nudged, overseen, and nurtured. For your
dedication, committment [sic], and leadership, you have earned the
recognition and respectful appreciation of your colleagues. We are all in your
debt. [A resolution commending Frank Mason for his efforts in preparing the
new Faculty Handbook]
