Daily Trojan; Faculty Salaries; Tuition

A resolution admonishing a quote in the Daily Trojan attributed to the AUniversity Administration, including its Budget Office,@ stating Athat the major reason for increases in tuition is increases in faculty salaries.@ The resolution states, among other things, that Athe Faculty Senate protests this practice by the University Administration and its Budget Office as unscholarly and uncollegial,@ that the University Administration should refrain from providing the Daily Trojan with Asuch disinformation,@ and that AIf such newspaper reports appear, Senate leadership should see that the matter is investigated and, if it deems it appropriate, a motion of censure for the University official(s) responsible shall be introduced at the May 1988 Senate meeting.@
