Cafeteria Plan; Health Insurance Plans

A resolution recognizing the rapid increases in the Medical Care Component of the Consumer Price Index and recommending the establishment of a consolidated USC Self-Insured Health Plan exclusive of the HMOs which will continue to be offered. The resolution goes on to state that the proposed plan, A...will also be operated like a mutual life insurance plan, with possible cost Asavings@ being rebated, at the employee=s option, in the form of taxable income, or integrated with the Acafeteria@ benefits program which the administration has been developing for the past several years.@ The resolution provides specific steps for achieving this plan.
