AARP; Dental Plan; Retirement Benefits
Whereas: The retirement
benefits of the University do not meet the needs of retirees and their spouses
for health care, and Whereas: Inadequate provision is made for funding medical
and dental coverage to Medicare for retirees and their spouses, Therefore Be It
Resolved: That: (1) Funding. (a) Funding be provided
for supplemental insurance to Medicare benefits for all retired faculty and
staff with fifteen or more years of service. (b) The medical facilities and
services at the Health Sciences Campus be offered to
retirees and spouses as a Preferred Provider Organization accepting Medicare
and AARP supplement as payment in full for services. (c) Dental benefits be offered for all retirees and their spouses, with the
option of having dental care provided at the dental school (Delta Plan).
