Faculty Research and Innovation
Fund; President Zumberge
Whereas President James
H. Zumberge is completing his term of office as the
10th President of USC, and has, during his tenure, made major
contributions to the development of the University of Southern California,
Whereas one of the first acts of President Zumberge
was the establishment of the Faculty Research and Innovation Fund, Whereas it
would be fitting to recognize the many achievements of President Zumberge by naming an activity that is particularly
associated with his tenure, Therefore, be it resolved that the Faculty Senate
wishes to suggest to the Board of Trustees the renaming of the Faculty Research
and Innovation Fund as the James H. Zumberge Faculty
Research and Innovation Fund, and that such a fund be suitably endowed so that
its income may sustain innovative research and scholarly activity of USC
faculty, specially in their initial stages.
