Dennis Dougherty; Health Insurance Plans

Whereas (1) A number of improvements in the medical fringe benefit package have been proposed by the Senate and by the administration, and (2) The 1991 benefits package includes several welcome improvements, and (3) Vice President Dougherty has undertaken to consider fully the remaining Senate proposals, to include substantial Senate representatives on the University Benefits Committee, and (4) The 1991 benefits package includes changes not reviewed in advance by any faculty committee, Be It Resolved (1) The Senate commends the substantive improvements in the medical fringe benefits package, and (2) The Senate once again expresses its concern at the process of making changes without full consultation, and (3) The senate commends Vice President Dougherty=s commitment to improve the process, and urges implementation of the proposals already adopted by the Senate.
