Merit Pay; Review Process

Whereas two recent faculty surveys (1989 and 1991) concerning the merit review and evaluation process raised serious questions about the process, and more specifically, its implementation in various units, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the University and Faculty Senate jointly appoint a commission to investigate the review and evaluation process with the express charge to (a) examine the units that seem relatively more pleased with the process, (b) examine the units that seem relatively less pleased with the process, and (c) recommend and implement changes to the process to improve unit satisfaction.
