AAUP; Salary Increases
Whereas the University
should be complimented for increasing, during the 1980s, its salary structure
such that it is now routinely rated with a class 1 rank in the AAUP salary
guidelines, and Whereas the University has a mission to increase its academic
prestige and standing within the community of scholars, and Whereas those other
universities, which we would like to emulate, have move [sic] their AAUP salary ratings to class 1*; Therefore Be
It Resolved that the whole University community, including the President to the
Provost to the Deans/Directors, formally commit to develop and implement a plan
to improve faculty compensation such that an AAUP rating of 1* is attained no
later than 1996.
