Resolution 90-91-31

Draft Proposals; Faculty Handbook; Senate Executive Board

Whereas: the March 6, 1991 Memorandum from the Provost in response to Resolution 90-91-11 is inconsistent with the will of the Senate as expressed in Resolution 90-91-11, departs from a principle that has guided the Faculty Handbook since 1972, violates the policy of joint authorship expressed in the current Faculty Handbook, and whereas, failure to resolve the disagreement will impede the development of a new Handbook, Be It Resolved That: The Memorandum be remanded to the Executive Board for response in which the principle of administrative unilateralism expressed in the Provost=s memorandum of March 6, 1991 is rejected along with a rational for its rejection.
