Retirement Benefits; TIAA/CREF

Whereas: Information related to survival after retirement is essential for all faculty and staff nearing retirement, and Whereas: Very little information is available for distribution to those approaching retirement, Therefore Be It Resolved That: The Faculty Senate Requests the University Administration (1) Develop a set of written materials that would be provide [sic] specific, relevant information for each faculty and staff member nearing retirement. These materials should address such topics as 1) Estate management, 2) Insurance needs of the retiree, 3) Current options related to TIAA/CREF, 4) University provided benefits for the retiree, 4) [sic] Where to go for further information or counseling (2) Identify one or more administrative staff members who are expert in the area of retirement benefit needs, who would be available to provide individual counseling upon request.
