President Sample to follow through on recommendations made by the Presidential
Commission on Undergraduate Education (CUE), including issuing a directive that
tenure, promotion merit reviews should include Aan improvement of the documentation and recognition
of teaching efforts,@ Atake steps to increase university support for the
Center for Excellence in Teaching.,@and Adirect the appropriate University Committees to
require that doctoral students acquire appropriate teaching skills.@
