Faculty Participation; Review of Deans

Whereas, Faculty now participate in the review of deans at the close of a five-year term prior to possible reappointment, The Provost now conducts a performance review of deans each year, for which there is no formal faculty input, Faculty have an ongoing responsibility for the academic programs of their schools, Be It Resolved, There should be a faculty component to the annual review of deans. One possible form such a component could take would be a confidential communication from the elected faculty council or assembly of the school to the provost. Each school=s faculty should adopt a form for such participation satisfactory to them, after consultation with their dean and the provost.
