Whereas, The Senate Task Force on the Libraries has submitted its report, dated November 19, 1992, Be it resolved that the Faculty Senate: (1) Receives the report with thanks for the committee=s work. (2) Directs the Executive Board to establish an ongoing Senate role in relation to University Libraries. The Executive Board shall endeavor to avoid unnecessary duplication of work, and may use joint appointment or nominations of a committee, division of labor, or other cooperative means approved by the board. The Senate respectfully suggests that the existing role of the Senate Research Committee be used as a model. (3) Requests that appropriate action be taken at the earliest possible time on each of the tasks listed in the report.
