Resolution 92-93-12
Intellectual Property; Faculty
Research; Space Allocation
Whereas, The Faculty
Senate Research Committee, consisting of members from the Faculty and
Administration, has considered proposed University policies on Research Space
Allocation, Intellectual and Tangible Property and Organized Research Units and
has come to agreement on modifications to them. The modified policies were
presented for perusal and consideration to the Senate University
Council on December 9, 1992 and to the full Senate on December 16, 1992 with a
request by the Research Committee for written comments. The few comments
received were reviewed in detail by the Research Committee on January 5, 1993
and accommodated in re-revised documents distributed to the Faculty Senators
prior to the Faculty Senate meeting of January 20, 1993. Therefore Be It
Resolved By The Faculty Senate That, The Faculty Senate commends the proposed
University policies, as revised, on Research Space Allocation, Intellectual and
Tangible Property and Organized Research Units to the Provost of the University
for approval, dissemination and implementation. Recognizing that further
revisions may be deemed necessary by the Provost, the Faculty Senate authorizes
its Executive Board to resolve them within the spirit of the commended policies.
