Resolution 92-93-17

 

Appointment Process; Department Chairs

 

Whereas, The Senate resolved that the existing University policy on fixed-terms for department chairs be enforced, and that there be appropriate faculty evaluation of department chairs, in Resolution 91/92-03 Adopted in 1991. Implementation of this resolution has been delayed in some portion of the University at the request of the School faculty assembly, Be It Resolved By The Faculty Senate That Resolution 91/92-03 is reaffirmed. As detailed in that resolution, in all portions of the University there shall be a faculty review of all department and division chairs at least every five years from appointment, or more frequently as a department faculty may choose, except for those departments which change leadership at intervals less than five years.
