Resolution 92-93-21
Conflict of Interest Policy; Faculty
Research
Whereas, The Faculty
Senate Research Committee, consisting of members from the Faculty and
Administration, has considered a University policy on Conflict of Interest,
Conflict of Commitment and Their Disclosure, and has come to agreement on a
Statement of Conflict of Interest/Commitment and an Annual Conflict of
Interest/Commitment Disclosure. The Statement and Disclosure were presented for
perusal and consideration to the Senate March 17, 1993 with a request by the
Research Committee for written comments. The comments received were reviewed in
detail by the Research Committee on April 8, 1993 and accommodated in revised
documents distributed to the Faculty Senators prior to the Faculty Senate
meeting of April 21, 1993. Therefore Be It Resolved By The Faculty Senate That,
Adequate Faculty consideration having been given to the proposed University
policy, as distributed, on Conflict of Interest/Commitment and its Disclosure,
the Faculty Senate commends it to the Provost of the University for approval,
dissemination and implementation. Recognizing that further revisions may be
deemed necessary by the Provost, the Faculty Senate authorizes its Executive
Board to resolve them within the spirit of the commended policy.
