RESOLUTION 02/03-11

 

 

 

Procedure:

1.     A motion should be typed or hand-printed.

2.     A motion should first be offered to the Executive Board for review and advice on editing and parliamentary implications.

3.     If changes are necessary, the motion should be recopied on another form.  Amendments may be indicated in the margin or on the reverse of this form.

 

 

Senate Historian

 

Whereas it is in the interest of the Academic Senate and the University to maintain its historical memory;

 

Whereas the history of the development of the faculty role in the governance of the University is central to understanding the institutional development of the University;

 

Whereas current and future decisions would benefit greatly from a better understanding of how policies, procedures and philosophy evolved at USC;

 

Whereas Bylaw 16 of the Academic Senate Bylaws states:  Standing and special committees. In addition to the Executive Board, there shall be standing committees of the Academic Senate as listed in the Standing Rules;

 

 

Be it resolved that the Academic Senate recommends and endorses that the Academic Senate Historian Committee be made a standing Committee of the Academic Senate
