RESOLUTION 02/03-13

 

 

Procedure:

1.             A motion should be typed or hand-printed.

2.             A motion should first be offered to the Executive Board for review and advice on editing and parliamentary implications.

3.             If changes are necessary, the motion should be recopied on another form.  Amendments may be indicated in the margin or on the reverse of this form.

 

 

Continued Participation in Email Retention Policy Setting

 

Whereas the University Information Services Division (ISD) has demonstrated a willingness to work with faculty on the development of an email retention policy;

 

Whereas ISD has agreed to postpone adoption of the proposed policy until the Fall semester;

 

Whereas it will be important to continue the discussion of this policy to develop a system that meets the needs, related training, and documentation of the entire University;

 

Whereas the Committee on Information Services has been involved in this issue for the last year;

 

BE IT RESOLVED that the Academic Senate recommend to ISD that an ad-hoc committee appointed by the President of the Academic Senate, composed of Senate and faculty members, be formed for the purpose of working with ISD to make recommendations regarding the proposed policy for consideration at the September meeting of the Academic Senate.
