Resolution 96/97-10

WHEREAS, there is a need to monitor the operation of the new grievance system.

Therefore it is moved that, the Chair of the Faculty Rights and Responsibilities Committee shall prepare an annual report to the Senate.

This report shall include:

A. The number of cases handled by the Faculty Mediation Officer and the number that succeeded in resolving disputes;

B. The number of cases handled by the Faculty Rights and Responsibilities Committee and the number that succeeded in resolving disputes;

C. The number of cases handled through arbitration and the number of instances in which each side prevailed;

D. The number of cases that were heard by grievance panels, the number in which each side prevailed, and,

E. The number of instances in which the President of the University affirmed or reversed grievance panel recommendations.

It is further moved that, the Chair of the Faculty Rights and Responsibilities committee will collect the necessary information from all relevant individuals. The report shall cover the period from July 1 to June 30 and shall be presented at the September meeting of the Academic Senate each year.
