Volunteers will swim to raise funds for scholarships for disabled athletes.
Swim With Mike began in 1981 as a fundraiser to buy a van with hand controls for USC All-American swimmer Mike Nyholt, who had broken his neck in a motorcycle accident. It expanded into an annual event that now raises funds for disabled athletes, including non-USC students.
Nyholt returns to swim each year.
Typically, more than 1,500 spectators turn out for the festivities, which includes a barbecue.
In the past notable alumni, celebrities, and Olympians have attended, including Lenny Krazelberg, Eric Vendt, Lindsey Benko, Klete Kellar, Olympic coach Mark Schubert, John Naber and Bruce Furniss.
