This closed program trains pharmacists in providing immunizations to adults and adolescents in a community pharmacy setting.
At the end of the program, the participants will be better able to:
-Review vaccine recommendations for adult, adolescent, and pediatrics.
-Discuss general principles of immunization necessary to provide vaccine information to patients and other healthcare providers.
-Clearly define the role of the pharmacists as an advocate, facilitator, and active immunizer.
- Discuss legal and liability issues.
-Integrate the pharmaceutical care process into an immunization service.
-Provide a workshop for hands-on injection.

Requirements:
Prior to attendance at the live program, the participant must pass a pre-test. Before a participant can receive a Certificate of Completion, they must show current proof of Basic Life Support Certification, complete this 8-hour course, pass the injection workshop competency assessment, and successfully pass a written competency exam.
CE Credit:
The University of Southern California School of Pharmacy is approved by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education as a provider of continuing education. Universal Program #007-000-99-139-L01 8 contact hours, 0.8 CEUs. There is no charge to attend. A participant must attend the entire program and pass the pretest and posttest to receive a continuing education statement of credit. Statements of credit will be mailed to participants 3-4 weeks after the completion of the program.
