This program teaches skills that pharmacists in all types of practice settings can use to educate and help people stop using tobacco products.
At the end of the program, the participants will be better able to:
* Recommend a current FDA approved product for smoking cessation based on patient characteristics.
* Apply into practice the 5 A's (Ask, Advise, Assess, Assist, Arrange).
*Counsel patients on FDA approved products for smoking cessation.
*To educate a tobacco user on the health risks of tobacco use and to help motivate them to quit.

The University of Southern California School of Pharmacy is approved by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education as an approved provider of continuing education. This continuing education activity has been approved for 4 hours of continuing education (0.4 CEUs). Universal Program Number is 007-000-02-226-L04. A participant must attend the entire program and to receive a continuing education credit. Statements of credit will be mailed to participants 3 to 4 weeks after the completion of the program.
