The agenda for the day's activities is:
8:30 a.m. - Coffee and Registration
9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. - Session I: Computational Genomics. Speakers include, Michael Waterman (“A Computational Theme in Genomics," pictured) and Pavel Pevzner (Title to Be Announced).
10:45 a.m. to noon - Session II: Molecular Biology & Cellular Function. Speakers include, Myron Goodman ("Sloppier Copier" DNA Polymerases Turn "Bad" Into "Good") and Melvin Simon (“The Alliance for Cellular Signaling - A Systems Approach to Understanding Signal Transduction)
Immediately following the lectures, join the College of Letters, Arts, & Sciences for lunch as officials celebrate the groundbreaking of a new research facility dedicated to molecular and computational biology.
The luncheon and groundbreaking festivities begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Symposium attendees will be escorted to the luncheon at the new building site.
