A lecture presented by Karen Reue, Ph.D. Professor, Department of Human Genetics, David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Reue’s recent work is aimed at identifying disease genes using mutant mouse models.
In particular genes with roles in complex diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and atherosclerosis. Using spontaneous mouse mutants, Dr. Reue has identified novel genes involved in development of fat tissue and in cholesterol metabolism.
