About this Image:
The five (5) orginal frames for this panorama were most probably made on a 8X10-inch view camera with a standard focal length lens, on glass plate negatives. The copies used here are copies of the original prints, which have probably been lost. They belonged to the personal collection of J.P. Getty, Jr., and are now held in the Department of Special Collections, Getty Research Institute For the History of Art and the Humanities, Los Angeles California. The archival prints were transferred to digital format with a digital camera, by Don Williamson of the GRI. The author then worked with these digital copies. He cropped and adjusted the images with Adobe PhotoShop, and stitched, blended, and rendered images into the panorama shown here using MGI Photovista (r) software. |
