Pacific Ocean Beach Most of the visible sand has been trucked onto the beach. This image was taken from the popular restaurant "Gladstone's 4 Fish" at the terminus of Sunset Boulevard (itself an icon). The sunsets on this beach, seen through the smog (another icon), which Jim Morrison called "the bloody red sun of fantastic LA" have been annexed to the Los Angeles global imaginary as well.
