TCC A v/s TCC B, Feb 9th, 1996 at Cromwell Athletics Field Result: Won by TCC A Report: We witnessed the first ever tied cricket game between TCC A and TCC B at Cromwell. The game was limited to 16 overs a side. TCC A batted first and ended up with 77 in 15.1 overs, largely helped by the 31 extras that TCC B gave away. Sumesh bowled well to pick up 4 wickets, including a hat-trick which went unnoticed as it was spread over 2 overs. TCC B were off to a great start reaching 46 for 1 in 7 overs. Ashwin cut loose by hitting 14 runs off 3 successive balls in the 7th over. Two quick wickets didn't slow down TCC B as Alex started playing some beautiful strokes. Soon, Ashwin retired and Arvin and Puneet bowled excellently to run through the later order. Finally, 3 runs were required in the last over with 3 wickets left. Puneet bowled an extremely tight last over. Ashwin came in to bat again with one wicket left and one run to get. He went for a suicidal run as Arvin aiming at one wicket effected a direct hit to run him out and tie the match.
