TCC A v/s TCC B, April 05, 1996 at Cromwell Athletics Field Result: TCC A defeated TCC B by 19 runs. Report: TCC A won the toss and batted first. Rohit set up the momentum of the innings with a couple of sweet boundaries, but the scoring rate really picked up when Ashwin and Ashish got going. They showed that batting straight is not a bad idea even in tennis-ball cricket by hitting boundaries between long-off and long-on. Both had to retire to let the other batsmen bat. Khan displayed some big hitting towards the end as TCC A accumulated a huge score of 112 in 16 overs. TCC B lost early wickets as a result of some excellent bowling by Khan, who bounced and turned the ball appreciably. Arvin and Rashid fought back very well before Ashwin took a good catch to get rid of Rashid and Rohit bowled a clever ball to get rid of Arvin. Even with an asking rate of 9 runs per over, Swami and Puneet gave a good chase but TCC B fell 19 runs short. Arvin and Puneet did the bulk of the scoring for TCC B. All the bowlers for TCC A bowled really well. Scorecard(incomplete): TCC A: Rohit c Rashid b Kedar 11(4X2) Naveen runout 06(4X1) Tarlos c Swami b Kedar 08(4X1) Ashwin st.
