The Laika Foundation was originally formed to provide lifelong care for retired animals from the space program. When the last space animal died in 1978, they began to fund general scientific research. Dr. Taylor was one of the first human recipients of funding from the Foundation, and, in Dr. Taylor's honor, they have provided significant funding for our project.
